I spent 10+ years in the corporate world. Every interview started with a question about my degree in Zoology. Shouldn’t I be working at a zoo?

What I found, however, was that my background was an advantage. I didn’t work in the most traditional way, and a lot of my managers found that refreshing.

I was often put in charge of motivational programs. I also ended up launching the supply chain group’s first official internship program. Mentoring and advising others became a passion.
